Inspired by the 30’s era night club of the same name which was in turn inspired by political cabarets of Europe. The 30’s New York club was the first racially integrated night club in the US and a place for all to thumb their noses at “exclusive” clubs tagging themselves “The Wrong Place for The Right People”. Jump to Seattle 2010 and a new music night of the same name and tagline. The night, hosted at rotating venues around town, was launched to showcase our community’s up and coming female musical artists.
We helped brand the night combining a script with an edgy typeface, grainy photos, and 30’s NYC show posters. A throwback to clubs filled with the sultry voices of jazz singers, thick with cigarette smoke - sexy, sophisticated, confident and accessible.
