Keytime

Keytime created a unique method for teaching touch typing. Designed for a variety of learning modalities, this time-tested method was developed for speed, health and fun. Unfortunately, they’d also time-tested their website. The previous version was 10 years old and needed to accurately reflect their modern perspective while remaining accessible and relevant for their primary audiences.

Starting at the foundation we rebranded Keytime by creating a visual language. We used finger tip placement on a keyboard to represent the patterns created in your memory when learning to type. Dots represent key strokes and concentric circles show multiple strokes, leading to patterns created by words on the keyboard. We extended the elements to include dot illustrations of recognizable objects, conveying the concept that once a person learns to type, they are able to communicate their ideas, thoughts and stories.  We produced printed materials as well as designing and developing the new Keytime website.
